(Lakeland Ledger, Feb. 4, 2015)  Local and state businesses have come out in favor of legislation that would forbid discrimination against gays, lesbians and transsexuals in the workplace and hiring.

The bills, House Bill 33 filed by Holly Rachein, R-Key Largo, and Senate Bill 156 by Sen. Joseph Abruzzo, D-Wellington, would create the Florida Competitive Workforce Act prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender, identity or expression.
